Endometriosis
When cells that line the cavity of the uterus grows in other areas of the body , it is called endometriosis. Most commonly affects the ovaries, fallopian tubes, pelvic peritoneum, pouch of Douglas, uterosacral ligament, etc.
Problems:
Abdominal pain, dysmenorrhoea (pain during menses), dyspareunis (pain during coitus), infertility.
Endometriosis is common. The exact cause is unknown, it is multifactorial. It can run in families.

USG, MRI
Laparoscopy and Biopsy is considered the ‘Gold standard”

- Severity of symptoms
- Severity of disease
- Whether you want children in the future
